PIG ON THE POND
COMMUNITY FESTIVAL
OCT. 13-15, 2023
at WATERFRONT PARK, CLERMONT
Pig on the Pond is an annual three-day festival, which has been bringing fun to the South Lake community for over 20 years with delicious barbecue, live entertainment, thrilling carnival rides, fireworks and more. The festival, held at Waterfront Park in Clermont, is the signature event of Project Scholars and the main fundraiser for our scholarship program. Other local businesses and nonprofit organizations participate in the festival as a means to conduct fundraising for educational purposes.
See www.pigonthepond.org for more details.
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT MENTORING
Because we recognize challenges of higher education aren’t limited to finances, each scholarship recipient is paired with a mentor, usually a community member involved in the student’s chosen career field. Our personal involvement with each student communicates how important they are to our organization and community, and the financial support coupled with our mentor program provides a strong combination for increased success at the undergraduate level.
PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL
NONPROFITS
Almost from the beginning, Pig on the Pond has been partnering with South Lake non-profit organizations who participate in the festival as a means to conduct fundraising for educational purposes. Twenty non-profit groups participated in the 2018 festival including local Boy Scout groups, the Caribbean American Association of Lake County and Special Olympics, selling a variety of foods such as funnel cakes, hot dogs, hamburgers and lemonade.
