Paul Rountree - President
Paul Rountree is a native Floridian, growing up in the Tampa Bay area. He served as an Aviation Specialist in the Army and was named “Soldier of the Year” for the HHC of 12th Aviation Brigade. In 1997, after leaving the army, he moved to the Orlando area and began his career in banking with First National Bank of Central Florida. Paul moved to Clermont in 2003 where he joined the team at Florida Choice Bank as Area President. In 2009, he was instrumental in the opening of First Green Bank, where he served as President and a founding Director of the Bank until 2015. Paul is currently the Executive Vice President for Mainstreet Community Bank, located in Clermont and is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Paul earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Central Florida in Business Management in 2005. He is very active in his community, currently serving as a board member and past president of Project Scholars and their signature event, Pig on the Pond, current Vice President of the South Lake Hospital District Board, and a member of South Lake Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past board member of the Community Foundation of South Lake and has served on the board of South Lake Pop Warner. Additionally, Paul is an active volunteer and coach for various youth league.
Mike Latham - Vice President
Nancy Srodes - Secretary
Nancy Srodes is a relationship and results driven Operations, Human Resource and Administrative leader with experience in both non-profit and for profit sectors. Currently, Nancy is the Patient Experience Manager at South Lake Hospital. Her responsibilities include partnering with hospital leaders to interpret patient survey results and develop strategies to deploy best practices to support patient experience improvement initiatives. Additionally, she has been in a Church Business Administrator role for over 12 years in a large Methodist church. Nancy has over 21 years in the theme park industry in both Operations Management and Human Resources where she developed and led a variety of teams. Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
Don Rose - Treasurer
Don Rose, now retired, was previously Director of Finance at Comtech Systems, Inc. in Orlando. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of Clermont where he has served as Chairperson of the Finance Committee and is currently serving on the Missions Committee. Don has also served as Treasurer of several other non-profit organizations, and is currently also serving on the board of the South Lake Community Foundation.
Tom English - Board Emeritus
Tom English has been a Project Scholars/Pig on the Pond board member since 2008. Born in rural NJ, Tom attended Barry University in Miami as an adult night student. After graduating he moved to Orlando, then into Clermont in 1999. “I’ve raised two amazing girls here, created many meaningful lifelong relationships, and feel blessed each day to call Clermont my home.” Tom manages the English Mortgage Team, a branch of Christensen Financial Inc. He and his team connect their clients with mortgage products that best meet their needs, financial goals and long-term strategies. Tom has held board positions on the Southlake Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation of South Lake. He currently sits on the Florida Health Care Alliance board of directors. Tom enjoys many sports and a healthy lifestyle.
Richard Chapman has lived in Clermont for 12 years and works for ACH of America as a Risk Management Consultant. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of South Lake, currently serving as District Resolution Chair for the Kiwanis Florida District and a past Lt. Governor for Kiwanis Division 9. Richard has been a member of the South Lake Chamber board for 6 years and is current member of the Chamber. He has held many committee positions in the Chamber. Richard also enjoys helping the March of Dimes on fundraisers, and is also currently involved with the Kidney Foundation.
Mike Mitchell is an entrepreneur and owner of Overhead Films, a video production company based in South Lake County which he founded on his 20-plus years experience in video production. Mike has been a resident of the Clermont area for the past 18 years and has been a part of the Pig on the Pond event since 2015, joining the Board of Directors in 2017. Mike is also a licensed Auctioneer and is actively involved with his church. Mike currently resides in Montverde, FL with his wife and high school sweetheart, Emily and their four children which they homeschool.
Pam Serviss was born and raised in Long Island New York where she attended Nassau Community College for Business Management and Marketing. She moved to Florida in 1996, making Minneola her home two years later. She’s been married to her husband Michael for 25 years and has two young adult children ages 24 and 20. In 2011 Pam was elected Minneola City Council and is currently Vice Mayor, a position appointed to her for the past four terms. She is also currently the Vice Chair for The Community Redevelopment Agency, a position that was also by appointment. Pam created and funded, by donations, the Minneola Dog Park in April 2013 and was awarded the Gem of the Hills Award in September 2013. She’s been the Office Administrator for Graphics Direct for the past 8 years.
Jill Swidler is a twenty year resident of Clermont and has attended almost every Pig on the Pond Community Festival in that time. She joined Project Scholars as a board member in 2017. Jill is currently the Sr. Director of Development at Montverde Academy, and her professional experience includes fifteen years in the theme park and entertainment industries. Jill's son is a junior at Stetson University and her daughter is a senior at Montverde Academy.
Kathryn Deen is an award-winning communications specialist with recognition from the Inland Press Association, Society of Professional Journalists, Florida Society of News Editors, Florida Press Club and Florida Magazine Association.
She currently serves as the communications director for the City of Clermont, Choice of Champions. Previously, she ran Stories Remembered, a business she founded to preserve stories in video, audio and written formats, which also produced Clermont Magazine, a monthly digital publication she launched. Kathryn also worked as a digital marketing specialist focusing on social media and reputation management for TAG Digital Marketing in Orlando; and she has freelanced for numerous magazines across North America. Previously, Kathryn thrived as managing editor of The Villages Magazine and The Villages Grandparents Magazine, as well as associate managing editor of news for The Villages Daily Sun. She also copy edited for The Seminole Tribune and reported for Orlando Business Journal. She has interviewed celebrities including Olympians Ryan Lochte, Veronica Campbell Brown and Churandy Martina; American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and Academy Award nominee Minnie Driver. Her special reports delved into longevity’s links with marriage and faith, America’s organ crisis, the fight for Alzheimer’s funding, and emergency responders’ roadside risk.
Kathryn graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a journalism degree and minors in business and leadership.
Armando Tautiva grew up in Boston Massachusetts and has called Central Florida his home since 2001. He attended Northeastern University for his BA and Babson College for his MBA. Armando is married with two adult children and enjoys hiking and cycling. He believes that education is the key which opens the door to great opportunities.
